KBIS Starlet aka Doris retires from eventing… Mums the word

KBIS Starlet “Doris” will retire from eventing, Doris was bought at the end of 2009 jointly by Mrs Jo Meyer and KBIS.

Doris has had a very successful eventing career, I just adore her, she is soo talented and awesome to ride, she Won at Advanced level in 2012 and represented team GB in the Nations Cup at Boekelo in 2013, with the fastest round over a tough cross country course.

This season however has been a different story, Doris no longer wanted to event. After having her thoroughly looked at by the vets and resting her, we gave her one last chance in the Open Intermediate at Salperton Horse Trials. Following a very good dressage of 29.6 and one pole down showjumping, Doris very firmly said she did not want to go cross country early on in the course. At this point I decided it was best to retire.

So her owners have decided that she might fancy becoming a Mum, she has gone to Twemlows Stud in Shropshire to be put to Mill Law, a very successful advanced event stallion.

Fingers crossed all goes well and we have a foal in the field next spring.
